Re: the wheel:

it was an experiment. I think the general consensus is a failed one.

We are 7 seasons into it. Another 7 seasons and it comes full circle.

I am thinking at the end of a full cycle the wheel is scrapped for whatever we want.

I am fine with doing it earlier but only but only if all 7 GMs who are due for their 'top of the draft' picks agree. I figure if we roll through a cycle, everyone gets a #1 pick and we can fairly re-set the method.

I've yet to have the top pick and would get the third pick next year and am more than happy to kill the draft rule to increase trading.

Like the Price is Right, the wheel has to make one full turn for the spin to count.

I would let it run full circle before scrapping

The other alternative is to not wait for another 7 seasons and enact dramatic changes now.

One proposal would be to RANZBA the CDL -- move to a RANZBA 2-week schedule, introduce financials with free agency, more time for trades, etc. Is lack of trading in part due to the pace of the league?

This proposal would incorporate blowing everything up and starting from scratch again -- another ammy draft!

I want my #1

Plus, this league is different.
It doesn't have to be RANZBA.

If you want more trades, import the imbecilic lower 1/3 of RANZBA owners to the  CDL, and you'll have trades galore. Just ask UK Subs. But then you'd have RANZBA again. No thanks.

I want my #1. I want to break .500 one season in this league. But with my luck, the consensus #1 pick in the draft that year will be someone like Greg Gagne.

My second basemen are already -1.8 WAR just one third of the way into the season. I'm bringing up a 19-year old Chris Owings to take over.

Not really interested in RANZBA-izing this league. I think the pacing is perfect. It is hard to make your team better, but the fast pace makes things better. I am still fine with the draft wheel, and at the very least think we need to stick with it until everyone gets their 1. Also, it doesn't take skill to suck and get high picks, so in my opinion the draft wheel has been a success.

But sucking is my only skill.
