I see at least 5 guys on the board who deserve it more than Pickrel.
Actually, a 3.18 ERA as a reliever would be a tough sell for the HOF.

His FIP was better than that, and I believe his 30.9 WAR tops relievers. 3rd in Saves and was good at it for a long long time.

Didn't think he'd get in - but barely making the cut surprised me. There are dudes that deserve it more than him, for sure, such as Bancroft who was likely one of the best if not the best offensive SSs we've seen

If Fryman didn't get in, no SS should get in.

He was by far the best SS, offensive and defensive, of his era.
But the fact that he played during our dead ball era made his stats very unsexy.

I mean OPS+ is OPS+ and Fryman's was 108 to Bancroft's 122. Heck, their careers overlapped for 8 years too.

Now, I feel Fryman should get in, but he hardly was so good that no other SS should get in - especially offensively.

He's also about to get lapped on defense by the Lindor's and Renteria's

Fryman played almost 2000 games at SS and was always superior in the field, hence his WAR advantage over Bancroft.

We'll see how these young tykes age.... I wouldn't assume they'll all maintain the D for 2000 games.
