A CDL Conversation
« on: July 24, 2021, 03:57:09 AM »
So with RANZBA about to get really going again its time for a CDL Conversation.

Some background: RANZBA sim format will be changing. I no longer want to sim 5 days a week in the AM. So RANZBA will be shifting to a more traditional 3-sim-a-week format in the evening, each sim 1-month and a season in 4 weeks. And we get a cool new tournament out of it (more to come about that in RANZBA land).

So now back to the CDL... this means I am not running 5 CDL PM sims anymore.

So there are a few options:

1) Someone steps up and is willing to handle some or all the sim, a Co-Commish or full one Commissioner role.

2) We fuss about with the league sim schedule and anything else we want to fuss around with and we keep moving forward. The caveat to this is that RANZBA is more of my focus than the CDL, so the CDL would have to fit around RANZBA commitments and in general I am moving towards fewer commitments.

3) We shut it down.

CDL came back to life out of some covid-dulldrums and its been fun -- 65 seasons! But I'm not going to keep it running in the current format and we should figure out how we want to handle that.

So you're saying, it's not me, it's you.

I think it is time for 3.  We had a great run, but we need to get ready for RANZBA 3.0, which ia for most of us, our priority.

I would prefer someone take it over and revitalize it...but the odds of that happening are pretty low

It's probably for the best to go with #3.

Although I did enjoy it's high degree of enigmatic play and weird abilty to make all Federal League players into stars. But if Ken Hubbs gets to keep the all-time hits leader title forever, that will make me happy.
