I believe you can rebuild in this league, despite some of the rules and looking at these Astros, it seems to be time for a refresh.  I'm open to trading everyone over 25, save George Brett, who should retire an Astro and Nolan Ryan, who I'll listen to offers on, but would need to be wowed to deal.

I'll consider picks in this draft, but they aren't going to land you a Piazza or a Shad Barry.  No post-its, we'll need to negotiate like gentlemen or scoundrels.

Pitchers

SP Steve Rogers - Rogers is a top 20 pitcher, a pitcher of this caliber hasn't been traded since Koufax.  Not cheap, but definitely a difference maker for a team at 28 years old.

SP Dick Drago - Drago is a dependable starting pitcher.  Considering there are two in this draft, they are rare beasts and Drago could be yours.

SP/RP Shawn Estes - Estes started in the past and could be a real asset to a contender.

RP Bill Slayback - Slayback is coming off a dominant relief campaign and was a successful swingman for years.

Batters

C Hal Smith - Smith is your economy class catcher.  Not Piazza, but definitely a starter for a number of teams.

C Mike Piazza - Continually ranked in the top three players in the league and by far the best catcher in CDL history.  A true difference maker at a hard position to fill.

SS Roger Peckinpaugh - Peckinpaugh is a legitimate starting shortstop, which is more than you can say about anyone in this draft.

1B/2B Shad Barry - Barry is one of the most feared hitters in the league and could easily shift to 2B.  He only played 1B in Houston, because Luis Castillo was a better option than any other 1B I had on the team.

2B Luis Castillo - An elite 2B combining defense and on-base skills.  Aside from a small blip two seasons ago, he is a consistent all-star caliber player.

OF Wally Westlake - Westlake should be a better hitter, but is unfortunately covered by the curse of the Astro corner outfielder.  Perhaps you will unlock the secret of his success.

CF JD Drew - A former MVP, he is still a quality centerfielder who can make a difference for your team.

OF Greg Gross - See Wally Westlake, more defense, less power, same indifferent results.

OF Ralph Garr - I had such high hopes for Garr, but he too suffered from the curse of the Astro corner OF.

I'm looking for picks and players under 25.

I have some extra Astros and would be interested in obtaining a right handed corner outfielder, reliever or interesting prospects/picks.

SP Shane Reynolds - Drafted in the second round of our initial draft, he could probably use a change of scenery.

SP Carlos Perez - Perez is coming off of 5.2 and 4.4 WAR seasons, but was bumped from the rotation by the acquisition of Sandy Koufax.  He could be a good addition to the back of someone's rotation.

C Evan Gattis - With the addition of Mike Piazza and Hal Smith in the draft, I have extra catchers.  Gattis is the catcher who hits with great power, but is not Mike Piazza.

C Bob Montgomery - Montgomery is the more well-rounded catcher, but is not Mike Piazza.

SS/3B Roger Peckinpaugh - Peckinpaugh is only 24, but blocked at most of his positions.  He has the potential to be a starting shortstop for someone and that someone could be you!

SS Glenn Wright - Wright has tremendous range, arm and double play ability, hits lefties well and is decent enough against righties.  He's only 27 and a starting quality shortstop, but I panicked and added Ripken in the offseason.

1B Lu Blue -  Blue draws a ton of walks and before last season, hit righties very well.  His ratings didn't fundamentally change, but his offensive output did.  He could be in line for a strong bounce back.

CF Alex Sanchez - Sanchez hits left handed and can credibly play CF without a platoon split.  Unfortunately for me, that is not a skill set I need in Houston right now, so he is available to you.
